*Please note that our class is now currently full.  We do have plans to open additional classes at the end of the summer.  Please contact us if you would like to have your name added to our waiting list.

All new students are entitled to two free trial classes to see what it's like.  Contact us ahead of time so we can properly plan for your introductory lessons. You won't need a uniform to take part in the trial classes - a loose pair of pants and a T-shirt are fine.  If you have own a groin protector, bring it along too.

At this time, we are only running adult Jiu-jitsu classes. To take part, you must be 16 or older.

If you'd like to continue your training, we require a minimum commitment of 3 months, up front, for $270 (discounted 5% off our usual monthly fee).

After the first 3 months, tuition is $100/ month.  We require that you provide 6 months of post-dated cheques.  If you pay by post-dated cheques and you have to quit before the 6 months are up, we require 30 days notice. All cheques after the 30-day notice period will be returned.

If you choose pay up front for several months, there are discounts: 5% off for 3 months, 10% off for 6 months or 15% off for 1 year.

Individual private lessons are $100 for non-members per 1 hour lesson (applicable taxes included). Contact us for special group rates.

Each student is also required to pay $25 for the annual membership fee to the Jiu-Jitsu BC Society for each calendar year.  Membership in JJBC allows you to participate in their technical seminars and conferences.  It also provides you with valuable personal injury and liability insurance.

Belt tests are adminstered based on each student's progress, both physical and mental. The test costs $10 for all colour belt levels, which includes new belt, a certificate, and a full evaluation of all the techniques performed along with suggestions for improvement.

Equipment

These are the equipment requirements for training in our Jiu-jitsu classes:

  • A Japanese style martial arts uniform (a gi in Japanese): This can be karate style uniform (heavy or medium thickness) or a Judo style uniform. The uniform (and belt) must be white.
  • Groin protection: This is required for both men and women.

Please speak to an instructor to find out where to get equipment.
